Course Description

The i4Geo Geospatial Science & Technology Series is a dynamic, hands-on workshop series designed to provide participants with advanced skills and practical knowledge across a broad spectrum of geospatial analyses and applications. All modules can be taken in a ‘watch and learn’ style, however some also offer the option to bring your own laptop and follow along with exercises, provided necessary software and files are preloaded.

This workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to intellectual property (IP) and its significance for students and innovators. Participants will explore the fundamental concepts of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and industrial designs, learning about their definitions, purposes, and the steps involved in obtaining protection. The workshop covers practical aspects such as conducting prior art searches, filing patent applications, proper trademark usage, copyright protection, and industrial design registration. Interactive activities, including case studies and group discussions, will enable attendees to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications.
