Course Description

The i4Geo Geospatial Science & Technology Series is a dynamic, hands-on workshop series designed to provide participants with advanced skills and practical knowledge across a broad spectrum of geospatial analyses and applications. All modules can be taken in a ‘watch and learn’ style, however some also offer the option to bring your own laptop and follow along with exercises, provided necessary software and files are preloaded.

The Geo Time-Series Modeling in ArcGIS Pro workshop is part of the i4Geo Geospatial Science & Technology Series, designed to provide participants with advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting temporal geospatial data. This workshop focuses on utilizing multidimensional raster datasets and advanced tools like LandTrendr to detect and analyze changes over time, with an emphasis on environmental and water body dynamics.

Course Outline

The following topics will be presented and discussed:

  • Introduction to Multidimensional Raster Datasets in ArcGIS Pro: Understanding the structure, creation, and use of multidimensional datasets for time-series analysis.
  • LandTrendr: Exploring the LandTrendr tool for analyzing temporal trends and changes in raster datasets.
  • Change Analysis: Techniques for identifying and interpreting changes over time in geospatial datasets.
  • Hands-On Exercise: Temporal Trend in Water Bodies: Practical application of tools and methods to analyze water body changes using time-series data in ArcGIS Pro.

Learner Outcomes

Through expert-led discussions and a hands-on exercise, participants will explore techniques for temporal trend analysis and change detection in ArcGIS Pro, equipping them with practical skills to address real-world challenges in geospatial research and environmental monitoring.
